Confidence Hypnotherapy in London

Quiet the self-doubt and step into who you really are. In person in central London or online.

You know you are capable. Others probably tell you so. But when it matters, in the meeting, at the interview, walking into a room full of strangers, a voice in your head says you are not quite good enough, and you hold back. Over time, those small moments of hesitation add up to missed opportunities and a life that feels smaller than it should.

Low confidence is rarely about ability. It is about old beliefs and automatic reactions that were learned, often long ago, and what was learned can be changed. Hypnotherapy works directly with that automatic part of the mind, so confidence starts to feel natural rather than forced.

How Hypnotherapy Builds Confidence

Why This Approach Works

Much low confidence is driven by anxiety and self-critical thinking, and there is strong evidence that hypnosis reduces anxiety (Valentine et al., 2019). Research also shows that adding hypnosis to cognitive-behavioural approaches improves outcomes (Kirsch, Montgomery and Sapirstein, 1995). As a psychologist and hypnotherapist, I combine both, so the work is tailored to you.

If your confidence drops mainly when speaking in front of others or in social situations, see my pages on fear of public speaking and social anxiety, or read how hypnotherapy builds confidence.

How We Work Together

1. A free 15-minute call. We talk about where your confidence drops and what you want to change.

2. Your first session. We explore what you tell yourself in those moments, and begin rewriting it with hypnosis.

3. A focused course of sessions, with recordings and self-hypnosis to build your confidence between sessions. If you have an interview or presentation coming up, we can plan around it.

Hypnotherapy in London or Online

I see clients in person at Islington Therapy House, 364 City Road, London EC1V 2PY, about a five-minute walk from Angel station and within easy reach of Old Street, King’s Cross and the City. I also work online via Zoom with clients across London, the rest of the UK and abroad. Online sessions follow exactly the same structure as in-person sessions, and many clients find it easier to relax at home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can hypnotherapy improve confidence?

Yes, for many people. Hypnotherapy works on the anxiety and self-critical thinking that sit underneath low confidence, helping you feel calmer and more like yourself when it matters.

Will hypnotherapy change my personality?

No. The aim is not to turn you into someone else, but to remove the fear and self-doubt that stop you from being yourself.

How many sessions will I need?

Most people benefit from a short course of sessions, and we can plan them around a specific event if you have one coming up.

Can I do this online?

Yes. Online sessions via Zoom follow the same structure as in person.
